Those who exclusively give him a different name are rare. However, Kanan does have a couple different alias's. A few are: Nan, Kane, Kay, and Beans. That last one is my personal favorite.

Kanan's "relationships" are almost not existent, poor guy. His mother passed away a couple years ago, and since then he really hasn't had a relationship with his father. And being an only child doesn't help. Friend wise, Kanan is too afraid to make any new ones.

Kanan doesn't technically own any animals, however, he does consider the friendly birds who visit him on a daily basis some pretty nice pets. His favorites are an owl he named Ophelia after his mother, and a sparrow named Aida after his sister.

- °Kanan is blind. He lost his sight about five years ago when he scratched his cornea, causing an infection. The infection quickly spread to the other eye, resulting in the loss of his sight. Now and days he can faintly see shadows. But really they are only faintly darker shadows than the normal darkness he see's.
- °Kanan sings, all the time. If he isn't talking to the birds or the tree's, he's singling along to his playlist. Softly and slowly, he often sings himself to sleep. It's something that bring's comfort to him in times of need.
- °He spends a majority of time outside, day dreaming. His small cottage is located in the center of a grove, next to a large open field. There he lays dreaming. He sometimes tells the birds his dreams, but more often they're kept secret.
- °He is obsessed with the sound of rain. It is so peaceful to him, and always seem to put his fears at rest, even if it only till the storm ends. He cherishes it. The pitter patter against the rain occupies the silence and replaces it with a hum.
- °The scent of caramel always seems to linger on and around him. His house, his fur, his entire being just smells of warm caramel. We don't exactly know why. He doesn't even eat a lot of caramel, he eats more fruit than sweets.
- °Kanan, despite being blind, has trained himself to play the piano by ear. One of his favorite things to play is Stay by Rihanna. He also enjoys singing along, and his most recent accomplishment is Stay by Rihanna, a difficult one.
- °On cold nights he makes a nest of pillows and blankets next to the fire place and fall asleep with the warm flames. These nights he doesn't have nightmares. Instead he's engulfed in warmth in peace, pleading to stay like that forever.

Kanan's anthropomorphic form is simple. He is lean, and stands at about five feet, seven inches. He still possess his wisps, hair, and sightless eyes when out of his quad form. But clothing wise, it's another story. So for now we'll take a look at a couple of outfits you'd find on Kanan in his anthro form.

And Kanan's quadruped form is well known, as we have all seen the beautiful reference that Talon made us. However, if he were to be under the ownership of yours truly, he would be given a couple accessories. You didn't think I'd leave him naked now, did you? No, no, no, he wears a couple items in his quad form.

Kanan currently resides in his cozy little cottage in the center of a quiet grove. It's simple, containing a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. The only things he really needs, however, his favorite place in the house is right in front of the fireplace. More often than not, he sleeps there than in his bed. It's just relaxing to him. But around the cottage is an open field in the back, and trees to the sides. Within them is a small creek that once was a full and swift river. But since the accident, the river seems to have gone down in size.

Allergies: Kanan is severely allergic bee/wasp stings. He discovered this as a child, and it wasn't pretty. His shoulder swelled to the size of a baseball at the sight of the sting. Since then he's always listening for the hum of a bee during the spring and summer.
Physical Impairments: His only physical impairment of course is his lack of sight. Kanan is blind in both his right and left eye, and can occasionally see blurry shadows. Mental Impairments: Kanan suffers from social anxiety. His symptoms consist of shaking, quickened breath, stuttering, and emotional shut down when his anxiety attacks come on. |

8:30 a.m.: Kanan wakes up, usually next to the fire place under a bundle of blankets. He slowly crawls out from his hole and has a good stretch before starting his day.
8:40 a.m.: His stomach starts to growl and ha makes his way to the kitchen, fetching one of the lemon and poppy seed muffins he prepared that night. He's memorized the layout of not only the kitchen, but the entire house so maneuvering without sight has become a breeze for him. 9:10 a.m.: After a bath, he feeds the Ophelia the owl and Aida the sparrow who wait patiently on the window sill whilst chirping their morning song. Ophelia, being nocturnal, watches over Kanan at night then heads of for her tree where she sleeps till dusk after being fed, and Aida plays happily with Kanan during the day, until she turns in for the night. 9:30 a .m.: After a few songs and another muffin, he heads out for the open field behind the house. It's November, which means the air is sharp on his lungs, so Kanan bundles up in his scarf and beanie, with Aida trailing behind him. 9:35 a.m.: A dirt path has been engraved into the field from his many trips to the center, where a clearing resides from the many hours he lies in the tall grass, thinking, singing, or telling stories to his feathered friends. 11:00 a.m.: The sun is up and his coat is warm, he dozed off for a bit the peck of a certain sparrow awoke him. Kanan merely smiles because the routine is so common, he can always count on Aida for reminding him that it's nearly lunch. With her perched on his dorsal fin, Kanan makes his way back to the cottage to fix lunch. 11:30 a.m.: Back in the kitchen, a pan is on the stove. His favorite is being made: Grilled cheese. After years of practice Kanan knows just how long to grill each side of the bread to keep it from burning, since his eye's aren't any help. His nose is also of assistance as he's now trained to detect even the slightest scent of burned food. 12:30 p.m.: With lunch finished and food in his belly, its time to start chores. First things first: Pick up the mass of pillows and blankets in front of the fire place. Then wash the dishes and clean the counters. The bathroom is fine to him from what he can tell, so just the basics will need to be done today. 1:00 p.m.: Even if he can't write, he still loves stories, not only that but also loves to listen to them. So he often checks out audio books from the library back in the village down the road. Today he's starting the Hero's of Olympus series. He puts in the cassette , pressed play, and looses himself in a good book. 6:00 p.m.: Kanan's paw runs over the braille clock that sits on the coffee table, it's around 5:00 from what he can tell and decides he'll start dinner now. On the back porch he can feel the heat of the sun leave as it dips behind the tall trees. Tonight he's decided on a pizza pocket that's finished in the microwave in two minutes. 6:10 p.m.: Back in the clearing of his field he enjoys the last rays of sunlight that warm his fur, pizza pocket in paw, and a song in his throat, today has been one of his better days. He woke up from a sleep that was absent of nightmares, got to start a new book, and enjoy a nice nap. A lazy day, but a nice one at that. 6:45 p.m.: Back inside, Kanan can hear the far off hooting of Ophelia as she catches her dinner. He smiles to himself as the scent of cinnamon wafts through the cottage. Kanan's favorite holiday is Christmas, and to him, there is no such thing as starting to early when it comes Christmas music. The sound of Rocking Around the Christmas Tree falls from the radio as Kanan joins in. For dessert/breakfast for tomorrow, he's making some home made cinnamon rolls. Ophelia listens to him sing along from her perch of the window sill, Aida joining in with happy chirps. It's nice to see him happy. 7:30 p.m.: With the cinnamon rolls cooled and iced, Kanan treats himself to a few and finishes the night with festive carols and some paracord. He's found something to keep him busy: weaving bracelets out of the thick string. It's something different, and his active mind often gets bored of things quickly so this a treat. 8:00 p.m.: His paw brushes over the braille clock once more. A few more chapters of his audio book then he'll turn in. He switches out the CD of Christmas music for the cassette of The Lost Hero and listens as he sets up his bed of pillows and blankets next to the flickering flames of the fire place. Settling into his mound of fluff, he listens intently. 9:00 p.m.: With heavy eyelids, Kanan lets himself drift off to sleep. Aida has turned in for the night, snoozing softly next to Ophelia's side, as the owl watches over him. But tonight she'll have to watch him thrash around with muffled screams. Because no matter what he does, that day always seems to creep itself into his dreams. |
